You Died illustrator Paul Scott Canavan put a herculean amount of effort into making sure the book’s cover art was just right.

Scroll down to follow the painting’s journey from concept to final sign-off, including some explorations of an alternate, more ethereal take on the Artorias grave scene, 3D modelling references used to nail down the grave details, and even a spread of different options for the symbol that would visually separate the author names on the cover (exemplifying the level of care Paul takes with his work).

Enjoy, and go let Paul know on Twitter what you think of his cover illustration.
